Flag Force - a new evolution at work

Flag Force UK has changed.

Completely.

We began as a movement rooted in nationalism, flag politics, and right-wing ideas about British identity. We now recognise that this direction was wrong. It excluded people, created mistrust, and allowed symbols of national pride to be pulled into a politics of fear, resentment, and division.

We are making a full political U-turn.

Flag Force UK is now a left-wing, anti-racist, working-class movement committed to solidarity, equality, community action, and social justice.

This is not a rebrand to soften our image. It is a break from our old politics.

We reject the right-wing nationalism that shaped our early direction. We reject racism, anti-migrant scapegoating, Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, class contempt, and all forms of hatred used to turn ordinary people against each other.

We believe the real problems facing Britain are not caused by migrants, minorities, refugees, or working-class communities. They are caused by poverty, inequality, exploitation, political failure, underfunded services, unaffordable housing, low wages, insecure work, and a system that protects wealth while ordinary people are left fighting over scraps.

That is where our focus now belongs.

We believe patriotism, if it means anything at all, must mean looking after the people who live here. It must mean defending the NHS, supporting workers, standing with renters, protecting public services, opposing racism, and building communities where everyone belongs.

The flag should never be used as a weapon against people.

It should not belong to the far right. It should not be used to intimidate Muslims, migrants, Black communities, refugees, LGBTQ+ people, or anyone else. It should not be used to divide estates, towns, streets, workplaces, or families.

If we are going to carry a flag, we want it to stand for something better:

Solidarity. Equality. Anti-racism. Working-class pride. Community defence. Public ownership. Peace. Justice. Belonging.

We know words are not enough. Trust has to be earned, especially when a movement changes direction this sharply. We do not expect instant forgiveness, and we do not ask people to forget the concerns they had about us.

What we can do is be honest.

We were on the wrong path.

Now we are choosing another one.

Flag Force UK is committed to becoming a movement of the left: democratic, anti-racist, pro-worker, pro-community, and firmly opposed to the politics of hate.

This is our line in the sand.

No more scapegoating. No more division. No more right-wing nationalism.

From this point forward, Flag Force UK stands with working people, marginalised communities, anti-racist movements, trade unions, renters, public-sector workers, young people, and everyone fighting for a fairer Britain.

The old Flag Force UK is over.

The new Flag Force UK stands on the left.
